BPI Certification – ASTM D 6400
This plastic product meets ASTM #D6400, “Standard Specifications for Compostable Plastics”, and is intended to be composted in a municipal or commercial facility operated in accordance with best composting management practices. Check to see if such a facility exists in your community.

BioBag products meet the California law regarding biodegradable and compostable product claims.
U.S. Food and Drug Administration Approved
Mater-Bi “NF” family of materials, such as NF01U, NF01U/2, NF803, NF866, NF09A, may be used in mono- and multi-layer film packaging, at a maximum thickness of 4.7mils1, in contact with all food types under FDA’s Conditions of Use C (“hot filled or pasteurized above 150°F”2) through G3(“Frozen storage” -no thermal treatment on the container).

EN 13432 “Requirements for packaging recoverable through composting and biodegradation. Test scheme and evaluation criteria for the final acceptance of packaging.”
In addition to disposal in a municipal composting site, BioBag products made with NF01U and DF01U are also certified by OK Compost (European) for disposal in home backyard compost settings. The certification process tests a product’s ability to decompose at a rate similar to other compostable items placed in the same setting.
Nr S-i1: OK Compost; MaterBi NF01U
Certifies the BioBag’s requirements for quality with regard to technical and mechanical properties within its area of use. Certifies that the BioBag is 100% biodegradable and compostable. This certificate is based on the strictest European standard for compostable products, EN 13432.
Nr S-i2: OK Compost; PMS 3425 Green
Certificate attesting to the fact that the printing ink is free of heavy metals injurious to health.
Nr S-i3: OK Compost; MaterBi NF 803 og NF 803 – 1
Certifies the bio-film’s requirements for quality with regard to technical and mechanical properties within its area of use. Certifies that the bio-film is 100% biodegradable and compostable.
Nr S-i4: OK Compost; MaterBi ZF 03U/A
Certifies the BioBag’s requirements for quality with regard to technical and mechanical properties within its area of use. Certifies that the BioBag is 100% biodegradable and compostable. The certificate is based on the strictest European standard for compostable products, EN 13432. However, this quality has a lower melting threshold than NFO1U.

Quality assurance certificate attesting to the technical and mechanical properties of the product within its area of use on the basis of the requirement specifications given.

Nr S-i7: Din Certco; MaterBi NF01U
Certifies that the material Mater-Bi NF01U used in the production of BioBags is 100% biodegradable and compostable.
Nr S-no1: EK Certificate
Certifies that Mater-Bi meets the requirements of Emballasjekonvensjonen (a Norwegian packaging convention) for safe food product packaging.
Nr S-no2: Norwegian National Agricultural Inspection Service
Bags made of Mater-Bi Nf01U are approved for use in collecting leftover food from the food service industry and to be recycled into animal feed.
Nr S-no3: DEBIO
BioAgro and BioBag 3-240 Ltr are certified as a non-organic input factor that may be used in organic agriculture according to guidelines specified in detail in Debio’s Regulation on Production and Labelling of Organic Agricultural Production.
